As children we were both creative. We fell in love with art and the stories behind the artworks from a young age and this is still as strong today. We found art to be one of the most powerful mediums to feel inspired and think differently.
As we grew up we learnt that life can throw out a few lemons and what became all the more apparent was the positive, and often healing effect, that art can have during those times.
What we particularly love about it is the human connections created between the artist and the viewer, to communicate things that sometimes words can't. What we’ve learnt is even more special is the further connections built between people when art is gifted from one loved one to another.
When Camille was little she was often gifted artwork instead of toys. This grew into a collection of pieces that each signify an important life moment. This treasured and growing collection has travelled with her wherever she’s moved to and is hung in her adult home, each piece connecting her back to her loved ones.
For over twenty-five years, Matteo’s family published Australia’s leading kid’s fashion magazine, Studio Bambini. The name Bambini Collections is an homage to the period of his life where he learned to connect with his creativity and the power of family businesses to create a community of wonderful people.
Bambini Collections was born out of a love of art, a sense of community and the aspiration to help support children’s mental health when faced with some of life’s lemons. As an online gallery, we collaborate with wonderful emerging artists to create art for children that stimulates their imaginations and are pieces they can grow up with, rather than out of. We are proud to be partnering with Place2Be, a charity that aids children's mental health in schools.
Our hope is for our art to help a child feel loved, connected and ever excited to take on the wonders of the world.
Love, Camille & Matteo xx
