Claudia is an artist and director based in Sydney. Her art practice is routed in drawing and photo media, often stemming from her personal archive of photographs. Moving countries often as a child and having a mixed Indian and Australian background made her curious from a young age about place and how we relate to it. Much of her art practice is considering ideas around personal history and how that can translate to universal feelings and aesthetics.
'One of my first memories was as a four year old visiting Cai Guo-Quiang's ‘Blue dragon & bridge crossing’ at the Queensland Art Gallery in Brisbane. It was an incredible interactive installation - a bamboo bridge built over the museum’s indoor shallow pool with rain falling on either side that you could walk over. To learn at such a young age the extent of what can be done with art - the scale, impact, experience - had a life changing effect on me.'
